Scoreless First Quarter Stalls Rams On Senior Night

It was Senior Night on Monday at Hightstown High as the Rams looked to close out the regular season against the Lions of Jackson Liberty, who were looking to snap a 3-game losing skid.

Rams started 4 seniors on their night, all of whom brought someone special and were honored before the game. However, there wasn’t much to celebrate afterwards as the Rams quickly fell behind 14-0 after 1.

While they would get on the board in the 2nd quarter, they still found themselves behind by double digits at 27-11. They would get to within 12 after 3, but could not get any closer.

While the Rams were able to drown out the distractions of Senior Night after the 1st quarter, it just wasn’t enough as Jackson Liberty scored early and often.

The scoreless opening quarter did the Rams in as they fell 50-36 to close the regular season at 12-10, while Jackson Liberty finishes at 12-11 with the State Tournament on the horizon and their run in the MCT set to continue soon.
